The 2021 GGPoker WSOP Super Circuit Online series came to an end. Without a doubt, the final clash between Niklas Astedt and Yanfei “aoteman1888” Chi was the most exciting moment of the entire circuit. Reversing a 5:1 was interesting to watch and accompany, and poker fans felt like they could not get enough from it.

About the Event

Before jumping to the highlights of the main event and how everything led to the well-known final results, the online WSOP Super Circuit should be formally presented. In total, it was a $100 million event, with 18 World Series of Poker Circuit rings and 2 Cash Game rings, plus a $525 main event with a $5 million GTD, conquered by Niklas Astedt.

Responsible for the world record of the largest online poker tournament prize pool according to Bloomberg, GGPoker went for the biggest WSOP Circuit main event, and they do not plan to stop there.

Main Event Overview and Results

Considered a superstar, the Swedish player Niklas Astedt took home the $758,443 prize in the 2021 WSOP Super Circuit Online Series, a small addition to his $22 million in online tournament cashes. He started the final table with a 4:1 deficit, increased to 5:1 by Chi, and finally reversed to give him the crown and the title of inaugural member of the Team Champions at GGPoker.

The top 3 was formed by Astedt, Chi, and “sssssAK” after Allan “Freedom35” Mello got ousted with Chi’s flush. As for “sssssAK,” his top pair was not enough to beat Chi’s trips, and he left with the prize of $426,499 after six rounds. That is when Chi entered against Astedt with his considerable advantage.

In order, Astedt’s actions leading to the first place were check-jamming the flop from 20 million to 108.3 million, then jamming for 118.6 million – when they became even – and he almost doubled the differences with a flush two plays later.

The next two events were a combination of big bets and the good luck and skill showed by Astedt, conquering a flush that leads to jamming and chipping up against Chi and finally ending him with his pair of aces against Chi’s pair of kings, who left the game with $568,746. Before the final hand, Astedt had the game reversed at 4:1 for him.

What is that Team Champions Membership?

Astedt received a $50,000 sponsorship for tournaments after becoming the inaugural member of the so-called “Team Champions”. Every next champion of the WSOP Online Series will be entitled to the same membership. That way, the best poker players of the moment can be tracked by poker fans.

Now, it is all about keeping an eye on the next events and perhaps bet on who will be the next Team Champions member.
